Education and Outreach
The Toronto Chamber Choir is committed to enhancing the appreciation of early music by our audiences, while always mindful that our audiences must be entertained as well as enlightened!
Whether through pre-concert chats, multimedia Kaffeemusiks, or contextualizing e-blasts, our aim is to give our audiences interesting insights and a deeper understanding of what lies behind the music we perform.
To extend our love of performing early music to the next generation, the choir has an appentice program with Rosedale Heights School of the Arts. Each fall, we audition Rosedale choir students who are interested in singing with the TCC for one or more seasons. This enhancement of their musical education has helped inspire many of our apprentice members to pursue postsecondary studies in music.
In addition, the choir gives back to the community through programs such as concert food drives, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge (you can view the video here), and singing carols for patients at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute each December.
To increase access to our concerts, we offer discount ticket prices for groups of 10 or more for teachers and students. Email us at info@torontochamberchoir.ca. We also have "Under 30" prices for subscriptions and concert tickets for young audience members. Please see our order form for details.
